Why We Built This Site
Minnesota provides statewide search tools, yet a District Court record still has a local custodian. MCRO brings eligible case indexes together so a reader can search by name, file number, citation, or another supported field. The Minnesota Judicial Branch establishes the access rules, while the County District Court Administrator maintains the file in the county where the case began. The Register of Actions points to events and available papers, but it does not replace the full file or an official copy. The statewide search identifies a case; the county route leads to the record holder for older papers, restricted-access questions, and certified documents.

What We Cannot Do
This is an independent reference service, not an office of the Minnesota Judicial Branch or a county court administration office. The service has clear limits:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot promise every listed phone number, fee, or hearing detail is still current
Only the County District Court Administrator holding a Minnesota trial-court file, or the appropriate court clerk, can issue its official or certified copy. A reference service can direct you to that custodian, but the record must come from the court.
Search Partners
Some search boxes are operated by outside providers. They set their own prices and determine what their products return. If a reader follows one of those boxes to a paid service, a referral fee may be earned. That income helps support the reference material at no charge to readers. Pricing, data handling, and search results remain under each provider’s control.
