Minnesota Court Docket is a private reference service, not a court or government office. It cannot access an official case file, change a hearing, or issue a certified copy. Questions about a District Court case go to the County District Court Administrator that holds the file. MCRO handles statewide public case searches, and the Minnesota Judicial Branch provides statewide court information. The county directory below routes local questions, including copy requests, case-specific hearing details, public terminals, and older files, to the proper county court administration office.

Contact the County District Court Administrator that holds the file, or the appropriate state appellate clerk for an appeal.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

Use the official path that matches the question or document:

  • The full District Court file: use the county directory to open the county site and contact its District Court Administrator.
  • A hearing date: check the Minnesota court calendar, then confirm appearance details with the county office handling the case.
  • A certified copy: request it from County District Court Administration through the county directory; MCRO downloads are not certified.
  • A statewide District Court search: use Minnesota Court Records Online (MCRO) to search eligible cases by name, file number, citation, or attorney.
  • A state appellate case: search P-MACS or contact the Clerk of the Appellate Courts.
  • The court hierarchy: see the Minnesota court system page for which court holds each kind of case.

MCRO helps locate the case, but the county office holds the District Court file and issues its certified copies. Use the Judicial Branch District Court directory or the local links in the Minnesota county directory to confirm the current phone, address, and service process.
